  1. I saw a harrowing report on the grain crops in both NSW and QLD this morning. My heart goes out to those affected.

    1. Yes, not looking good over most of QLD, NSW and north west VIC.

  2. I must proof read when I comment, I note from my last comment. I've seen many canola crops alongside the Hamilton Highway and I can tell this is a very poor crop.

Intruder? There is something mid photo on the right.

    1. This canola crop is not great. What started out as a not too bad cropping season has turned bad - crops are quickly running out of moisture and will not finish. Decision time for many farmers around the district - do we cut now and preserve feed value by making into hay or silage or do we hold out for rain?

  3. Looks like a 'roo to me, watching the machinery coming towards it.

    1. Correct, and it jumped out of the way pretty quickly when it saw what was coming.

  6. Drought is hard on a farmer. We had one in the middle of the season and then the rains did come. It did help keep things from germinating.
