The rain gauge thief strikes again. 

The lid & measuring flask are missing... again. 
I suspect we have a resident bird that has a penchant for rain gauges or one that just likes playing hide & seek with us. Many times we have found the lid and flask lying on the ground or in the channel and put them back in place only for them to be missing again the next day. Unfortunately we can’t always find them… hence the need for the new gauge. I even tested this one before buying to make sure the lid was a tight fit. Not tight enough apparently. We need to set up surveillance… after I buy another rain gauge.
