Stockfeed, there is a shortage of stockfeed throughout Eastern Australia so the corn stubble is being baled up and trucked out. The feed value is a little better than wheaten straw which is the stubble left over after wheat grain has been harvested... this is what is left over after the corn seed has been harvested.
This property is about 40kms from our farm. We've been called in to stack it all up off the paddock.
Every time I see a John Deere I think of your farm. I am glad they have a machine to stack those bales. Fifty years ago I had to help my dad stack them one bale at at time. Clover and alfalfa were the plants of choice.
Rather a lot of corn stubble. What is it used for?
