This week has been National Bird Week and today is the last day to
submit your count for the Aussie Backyard Bird Count. It’s not too late and it
only takes 20 minutes.
For the record I counted 13 species and 29 birds in our
backyard including this colourful Red-rumped parrot.
He is beautiful. I too joined the bird count and saw 22 different species and sighted 244 birds over the 7 days. My fairy wrens were sadly absent. The Rainbow lorikeets were in excessive numbers.
ReplyDeleteI would think it would have to be just the slightest bit noisy---- I love 'em but...
ReplyDeleteGreat innitiative. And a wonderful photo of a bird which all too often hides its red rump.
ReplyDeleteYet again I didn’t get to do the count. I love those little parrots, they are so pretty and because they appear as we move west mean I am likely on a holiday when I see them.
ReplyDeleteSuch beautiful birds in Australia. Cheers Diane
ReplyDeleteas beautiful as it is
ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful colored bird.
ReplyDeleteSuch a colourful parrot. Well done!
ReplyDeleteVery pretty, always nice to see our pretty birds.
ReplyDeleteA man just a few km north of Proserpine had seen 99 different species of birds in one Caravan Park, so he said..hard to believe, yet not.
It blows me away that you have those birds in your "backyard."
