Yes a wheat without beards (i.e. it doesn't have the awns that are quite prominent on the wheat on the right). It's a dual purpose wheat i.e. can be grazed with stock and then stripped for grain. We are running some trials to see how feed values compares with normal wheat.
I'm sure someone could say--- a grainy picture. I won't. Uh.... The fact is, I totally agree with our friend, Helen. IT is a wonderful, frame-worthy image!
