On our farm, no the frost won't do any damage because we don't have any cereal crops that are flowering at the moment. Our wheat is a later variety. But where crops are flowering eg. canola & wheat, the frost could do a lot of damage. Further north from us there is some frost damaged crops from a frost 2 weeks ago. Some of these crops will not be worth harvesting for grain, so will be cut for hay or fed to stock. Locally farmers will not know the damage of this frost for a couple of weeks.
Oh yes.
ReplyDeleteSpring has sprung, but the mornings are still chilly.
That is one humongous field.
ReplyDeleteHope that is the last of the frosts for you this year while we still have to start!! Have a good week, Diane
