Who would have thought that my little blog would create so much interest.
My blog journey started on January 1, 2013 as a photo-a-day challenge to find that something special, something to be grateful for each day. It has continued daily (mostly) for 3½ years.
Farm-ily Facebook came about much later and only after encouragement from family and friends. Reaching 1000 likes on my Facebook page is a delightful but surprising milestone.
So Blogging vs Facebook?
Blogging is like an old friend; a friend that I am very comfortable around. It opened my eyes to a completely new world, and gave me the opportunity to “meet” other people from all walks of life. And for that I am eternally grateful. Farming life can be somewhat isolating so connecting with you all on a daily basis is something I treasure greatly.
Facebook for me is like a new acquaintance. We are just getting to know each other. This new friend has expanded my horizons and given me a fresh perspective.
We need both new and old friends in our lives to keep things interesting and balanced.
As the old saying goes:
Make new friends but keep the old.
One is silver and the other gold.
Congratulations.
ReplyDeleteThree cheers for your milestone. Facebook is great for communicating and blogging is a much better format for photography. The best part is that they both are free.
ReplyDeleteYes, I agree it is wonderful that they are both free.
DeleteWhat a great accomplishment! Congratulations!
ReplyDeleteI truly love your photos and I'm glad to see that you're on Facebook as well.
You and I are very different people and lead very different lives yet we learn about each other's lives with interest. I could ditch FB tomorrow, but not blogging and the blog friends and real friends I have made.
ReplyDeleteCongrats!

ReplyDeleteI am getting close to the end of my 10th year blogging and thinking of making a change when I hit that milestone but it won't be Facebook … it's a wee bit to friendly for me … maybe Instagram.
