We don't get many door-to-door salespeople, maybe a handful each year. I remember a student from an art school coming around a number of years ago, selling unframed paintings that the students had done. Some of them where just amazing, some of them not so. I thoroughly enjoyed going through them all, but could only afford a very small painting.
Oh gosh. Thirty years ago (I know it was about that long ago because of where I was living) we, too got a knock on the door and the pilot of a lttle survey plane was selling photos that he's been taking whilst surveying. It was very enterprising. I must look out the negative (the framed photo stayed with the house but I also bought the negative).
We have a large framed hand-coloured B&W aerial photo of our farm and hanging over our mantle piece that was bequeathed to us by the previous owners. We think it was taken about the 1960's judging by the car parked in the driveway. It is a much treasured item in our home.
Yes, aerial photos of our home farm. In the 25 years that we have lived here I think we have had aerial photographers come around 3 times. The one who came yesterday was just the salesperson, whereas the previous one was the actual pilot. He was fascinating to talk to, very well travelled as you would imagine.
Much more interesting than the door to door salespeople who arrive here.

DeleteNow I wouldn't mind seeing what he has for sale? Is that am aerial of your farm?
ReplyDeleteYes it is an aerial of our farm. These are the sample photos... and all that I bought from them.

DeleteWow very different, is that your farm or just showing you what he can do?
