The everyday of our family farm
What a cutie. Unless you have fruit trees.
My... what big eyes.
What is he?
I have the same question, Lynda! I've never seen one of those on the prairie or mid-west.
He is a Brushtail Possum - which are quite a large possum native to Australia. So no, you probably won't find him on the prairie!
Where did you find it? Is it a fruit bat?
Much, much bigger than a fruit bat. Brushtail Possums are about the size of a cat and have a very long tail. They are relatively common, normally found in trees but also make their homes in sheds and house roofs.
Oh good, you found Roger. Would you mind sending him home please.
Awww so cute, Diane
We have one living under our house. It gets into the heating ducts.
I'm sorry but in New Zealand we do not hold the Opossum in such high regard as you do. They are a national nuisance (to put it mildly).
What a cutie. This Opossum is way cuter then the one I saw on my mom's front porch the other day trying to eat the cat food left for the cats.
