I saw two killed on suburban roads with 50 km/h limits. By what feathers I could see, they were young, not yet having developed bright white colouring. Poor ole maggies.
I wondered what this was...glad someone said it was the magpie. And to think, I know I have looked them up before but just did not come to me. Sure is beautiful.
How I love our magpies. Their warble is always a joy.

ReplyDeleteSweet magpie, they are nice birds.
ReplyDeleteWonderful capture!
ReplyDeleteThey look quite different to our magpies. Love the photo, Diane
ReplyDeletePretty bird !
ReplyDeleteThis is such a pretty image....the wispy grass really adds so much interest to the photograph. It's a beautiful bird, I have never seen one!!
ReplyDeleteWe don't have them on the wet side of the Cascades, but I love seeing them on our trips to the dry side. People there hang houses for them all over.
ReplyDeleteOh--- As always, a wonderful shot.
