Wow, MF equipment. I understand the baler at the end - but what is the middle piece of equipment? Water tanks on the baler? To add moisture so the bales aren't too dry? We don't live in an area where there is a lot of hay production and most farmers here just use a John Deere round baler. As a kid, we bales small bales, so new equipment to me.
The implement in front of the baler is a steamer, so you are right - it adds moisture to the hay as it is baled in the form of steam though not just straight water. It is only a new purchase for us, but was invented and manufactured in the US. And it is working a treat. The amount of hay that we have baled this week has been pretty incredible. Now if only we can get it all stacked and covered before it rains...
Always a good thing when you get the hay in...
ReplyDeleteIt looks as if it is well on the way. Love that sky too.
ReplyDeleteHere we are bringing in the maize during autumn. Raining at the moment which they could probably do without! Lovely photo, Diane
ReplyDeleteLooks impressive. Very busy time but then most times are busy on a farm..
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sky! Looks like you are making good progress.
