The new water meter.
Across our irrigation district the dethridge water wheels
that have been in place since the scheme’s development in the 1940’s are gradually
being replaced. These wheels, seen here and here, measured the water as it came
onto each farm. This new slip meter syphon replaces two wheels.
Interesting and I love the pink sky. Diane
ReplyDeleteAnother change with technology and good to keep a record of it like this.
ReplyDeleteI much prefer the wheels.
ReplyDeleteThe wheel are much more photogenic, but I guess this is progress. The sky is a winner any time!
ReplyDeleteAwesome sky...we saw today here in Kununurra similar..
ReplyDeleteI like the wheels better!

Love the sky, Lynda!
ReplyDeleteFascinating. I agree with others that the wheels are more photogenic, but there is beauty in efficiency too.
ReplyDeleteLove that sky.
Hope the transition goes smoothly! Water rights can be an issue!
ReplyDeleteWell technology may be great and perhaps more efficient but I found the wheels more charming.
